Description

The iTach Flex enables you to easily control any Infra-Red (IR) appliance via your home’s LAN network. Appliances such as TVs, DVD/Blu-Ray, Amplifiers can all be controlled from your Z-Wave network controller (via local LAN),  and then control it from your Z-Wave controllers such as Fibaro HC3 or VERA.

The iTach Flex includes the unique ‘Global Port’, enabling you to choose which types of device the iTach Flex controls by selecting any of the Flex Link Cables:

  • Flex Link Tri-Port IR Cable – enables up to 3 IR emitters to be connected to on iTach Flex

Note – the Flex Link cables are not included with the iTach Flex, you need to choose at least one Flex Link Cable when you order the iTach Flex.

HC2 Virtual Device

To enable the Fibaro Home Center to use the iTach devices, we need to create a Virtual Device. This Virtual Device sends the correct IR commands to the iTach to control the particular appliance and can be used from a browser, smartphone or tablet.

This guide below shows you how to:

  • Create a Virtual Device in Fibaro Home Center
  • Use IR Commands that the iTach has ‘learnt’ for a specific appliance
  • Use the Virtual Device to control the appliance using IR commands via the iTach IR adapter

Make sure you have configured your iTach adapter and have used it to ‘learn’ the IR codes of the appliance you wish to control.

The Aeotec Z-Stick (Gen 5) is a self-powered Z-Wave USB dongle with portable push-button inclusion for Z-Wave devices (independent from external power and host microprocessor). The FIBARO Button is a compact, battery-powered Z-Wave Plus device which allows you to manually activate and deactivate devices within your Z-Wave network and to activate scenes defined in your Z-Wave gateway. The FIBARO Button supports up to 6 different actions/scenes which are triggered with one to five clicks or by holding the button down. In panic mode, each press of the button results in triggering of the emergency scene. Designed to be small and light, the FIBARO Button can be conveniently mounted on any surface and in any location (eg. beside the bed or under the desk) Note: This device may be used with all devices certified with the Z-Wave Plus certificate and should be compatible with such devices produced by other manufacturers. FIBARO Button is a Security Enabled Z-Wave Plus product and a Security Enabled Z-Wave Controller must be used in order to fully utilize the product.

Installation

  • Place the Swipe onto its holder.
  • Place the Swipe within the direct range of your Z-Wave controller.
  • Plug the power source into the micro-USB port if required.
  • Set the main controller in (security/non-security) add mode (see the controller’s manual).
  • Move and hold your hand close to the center of the pad.
  • If the device is battery powered, high pitched beep will signal exiting the Standby Mode.
  • Loud sound sequence will confirm entering the menu, keep holding your hand.
  • After hearing two short beeps (green indicator colour), withdraw the hand and perform swiping up gesture to confirm selection (two beeps will confirm validity).
  • Wait for the adding process to end.
  • Successful adding will be confirmed by the Z-Wave controller’s message and 3 short beeps (green visual indicator colour).
