Configuring Z-Wave Devices:
Z-Wave devices often have several configurable parameters which you can change using your Vera?s user interface. These parameters can include things such as the length of time a Z-Wave siren remains active for or the type of manual switch connected to a Z-Wave light controller.
Every available configurable parameter is listed in your device?s user manual. In most cases your device?s default parameters will be suitable to your needs however sometimes it may be necessary to adjust them to optimally use your device. A guide to configuring Z-Wave devices with Vera UI7 is available in the Manuals section.
This product must be installed by a qualified electrician. Before engaging an electrician, check that they provide a warranty and electrical compliance certificate. For a warranty claim, you have to provide an installation compliance certificate from your electrician.

Range Extender 6.
The Range Extender 6 keeps it reliable. We all know how annoying weak wireless signals can be. Weak WiFi and poor phone signals are frustrating. Imagine if your smart home was also plagued by weak wireless signals and the same frustrations? Your smart home would not be very smart. The Range Extender 6 from Aeotec ensures that your connected home stays connected. It intelligently listens to the commands and reports that your Z-Wave network sends, actively capturing weak signals and then amplifying and repeating them.
FIBARO Smart Implant allows to enhance the functionality of wired sensors and other devices by adding Z-Wave network communication.
You can connect binary sensors, analog sensors, DS18B20 temperature sensors or DHT22 humidity and temperature sensor to report their readings to the Z-Wave controller.
It can also control devices by opening/closing output contacts independently of the inputs.
The Fibaro Z-Wave In-Wall Dimmer 2 (FGD-212) is the newest version of a popular wireless controller designed to operate behind a wall switch.
Control the level of illumination of your light remotely or using a manual button (in two and three way configurations)
Implemented algorithm of smart light source detection
Acts as a repeater expanding your Z-Wave network
Wide range of compatibility with existing light fittings and does NOT require expensive re-wiring
Active power and energy metering functionality
Works with various types of manual buttons
Active element: semiconductor electronic switch

Unused lines should be left insulated.
Tips for arranging the antenna:
Locate the antenna as far from metal elements as possible (connecting wires, bracket rings, etc.) in order to prevent interferences,
Metal surfaces in the direct vicinity of the antenna (e.g. flush mounted metal boxes, metal door frames) may impair signal reception!
Do not cut or shorten the antenna ? its length is perfectly matched to the band in which the system operates.
Make sure no part of the antenna sticks out of the wall switch box.
The Fibaro Z-Wave In-Wall Dimmer 2 is designed to operate with or without a neutral wire. It may be used as a switch in systems without a neutral wire.
In the case of a 2-wire connection (no neutral), the Fibaro Z-Wave In-Wall Dimmer 2 may require a minimum load of 50W depending on the specifics of the connected load.
When used with a Fibaro Dimmer Bypass 2 it may operate with any compatible (see below) load from 5W. Before committing to buy Fibaro Dimmer Bypass 2 please check if your load can be properly controlled by Fibaro Dimmer 2 without a bypass device.
Do not connect this device to a power supply without a load. Only lighting devices may be connected to this device.
As a dimmer it operates with the following loads:
230V operated conventional incandescent (from 50W to 250W)
230V operated halogen (from 50W to 200W)
12 V operated ELV halogen lamps and dimmable LED lamps (with electronic transformers: Trailing and Leading-edge type) (from 50W to 200W)
Dimmable CFL tube lamps with electronic ballast only (from 50W to 200W)
As a switch it operates with the following loads:
Compact fluorescent lamps with electronic ballast
LED bulbs (power factor >0.7)
Fluorescent tube lamps with electronic ballast
Please note: For loads other than resistive do not exceed a 1.5A current.
This product integrates with all Australian certified (921.42 MHz) Z-Wave and Z-Wave Plus controllers including:
Vera Plus/ Edge
Fibaro Home Center 2 / Lite
Please note: Do not mix the load type (e.g. LED and CFL or different types of transformers) as it will impede the proper operation of the dimmer. Doing so will void the dimmer's warranty.
This product must be installed by a qualified electrician. Before engaging an electrician, check that they provide a warranty and electrical compliance certificate. For a warranty claim, you have to provide an installation compliance certificate from your electrician.PLEASE NOTE FOR THE INSTALLATIONS IN THE AREAS WHERE ELECTRICITY SUPPLIERS USE OFF-PEAK RIPPLE CONTROL SIGNALS:
Electricity suppliers in particular areas of Australia such as NSW, QLD and some other places are injecting an off-peak ripple control signal using Zellweger equipment or similar onto their distribution networks in order to remotely control devices such as off-peak hot water systems and street lighting, although other areas within Australia also use this technology. Not all properties are affected by ripple control, so just because you might live in one of these areas, does not mean that you will have these problems.
Ripple injection control systems work by superimposing coded control signals, commonly 750Hz or 1050Hz on the 50 Hz mains supply.
Some electrical appliances such as fans, dimmers, toasters and LED lighting can be sensitive to this ripple control signal. The results could be audible buzzing noises from fans or flickering lights whenever the ripple control signals are present.
Electricity suppliers are advising users to install appropriate ripple signal filters in such areas.
The ripple signal filter is a tuned passive inline filter that completely eliminates the superimposed ripple injection control signal from the normal mains supply to produce a noise free filtered mains supply which can then be connected to the electrical appliances or light control systems. The ripple signal filter is specifically tuned to eliminate the ripple control signal frequency of 750Hz or 1050Hz.
However, we can?t guarantee the ripple signal filter always will help you if you experiencing such issues. Please contact your local energy provider to get more information and proposed solutions for your electrical installation.
If you are getting similar problems with your dimmers and fans and it?s not Ripple Control Signal and you are hearing the tones at random times of the day, your electrical supply may be affected by harmonics; a power fluctuation that is not part of the normal electricity supply or ripple control signal output.
Harmonics are caused by interference created by other equipment on the network, such as inverter type air conditioners and switch mode power supplies for computers.
The offending appliances may be in your home or other premises on the local power grid. If you are being affected by network harmonics, it may be of benefit to transfer the electricity supply to your premises to a different phase in the street. This is something you will need to discuss with your electrical company.
We are strongly recommending for the areas we have mentioned above to run tests with only a few dimmers before committing for high volumes. If results are not fully OK you may use relays only instead of dimmers.
Please note that our warranty for the faulty devices is not covering above mentioned conditions with your local electric grids.
Please see affected with Ripple Signalling areas here:
QUEENSLAND
Only Southern Queensland (Energex) has Ripple Signalling.
The Frequency is 1050Hz.
The rest of Queensland (Ergon) does not have Ripple Signalling.
